"My spiritual life is going to grow A TON while I'm at Gordon"

If you've been reading what I have to say about the other comments, you are probably getting sick of me saying that you will get out of Gordon College what you choose to get out of it. Unfortunately, I'm going to say the same thing again.

Gordon College offers you the opportunity for growth in your spiritual life while you are here, but it doesn't just happen. I had this idea that when I came to Gordon I would magically become "Christian Guy", and would live out the rest of my life in some sort of spiritual oasis, free from the struggles of the world. Okay, maybe not that drastic, but I did think that I would grow more than I did the first few years I was at Gordon. My expectations were in the wrong place, however, because instead of seeing Gordon as an opportunity, I thought it would be a solution.

There are a variety of ministries to choose from at Gordon, chapel three times a week that is sometimes encouraging, and lots of Christians who are probably very similar to you. But just like every other place in the world, just like every other stage of your life, spiritual growth will only come if you want it to come and motivate yourself to make it happen. It could be argued that, more than any other time in your life you are given the means for growth, but nothing is going to happen unless you take the initiative yourself.

So again, consider Gordon College as a possibility for spiritual growth, but not as a solution. It will only be what you make of it, the choice is yours.
